What the law imposes
The Belgian legislator approaches player protection more firmly than players tend to expect and it is built that way on purpose. On any licensed site the weekly limit defaults to €200. Lowering it is immediate, raising runs through a verification and then a waiting window.
The EPIS system is the regulator's central exclusion list: the block covers every licence holder in the country. The register is not public. The bar has stood at 21 since 1 September 2024, lottery aside; scratch cards and Lotto stay at 18. The check is automatic.
