Editorial team and method

Sophie De Clercq has written about Belgian gambling sites since 2015 and opens an account at every operator where support and limits always comes first. Active from Brugge.

How we test. every test starts with a real account, start with a deposit of our own money, request payout and record the turnaround. Licence status is verified directly with the Gaming Commission and read the bonus terms line by line. What we could not verify does not appear.

The site runs on affiliate income; the text above does not depend on it. A missing licence is never left unsaid.

What the law imposes

The Belgian legislator approaches player protection more firmly than players tend to expect and it is built that way on purpose. On any licensed site the weekly limit defaults to €200. Lowering it is immediate, raising runs through a verification and then a waiting window.

The EPIS system is the regulator's central exclusion list: the block covers every licence holder in the country. The register is not public. The bar has stood at 21 since 1 September 2024, lottery aside; scratch cards and Lotto stay at 18. The check is automatic.
